Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course students will be able:
- To recognize and describe specific aspects of on western Christianity, on the basis of the textual sources of western christian tradition.
- To analyze specific topics of the Dogmatics of Roman Catholicism and Protestantism.
- To present, interpret and discuss specific topics of the terminology and the hermeneutics of the Christian faith. These topics are related to certain consequences of Trinitarian dogma and the Scholastic philosophy.
- To be acquainted with the various interpretations of modern bibliography regarding the contemporary theological discussion on the ontology of personhood.

Course Content (Syllabus)
1. Roman Catholicism and Reformation facing Enlightenment in the 19th century.
-The First Vatican Council: The Dogmatic Constitution on the Catholic faith. The relation of reason and faith.
-The Encyclical Aeterni Patris of Leo XIII: The establishment of Thomistic studies.
2. The Encyclical Pascendi Dominici Gregis of Pius X on Modernism.
3. The 24 Thomistic theses as the regulative canon of Neoscholasticism. Ontology.
4. The 24 Thomistic theses as the regulative canon of Neoscholasticism. Cosmology.
5. The 24 Thomistic theses as the regulative canon of Neoscholasticism. Psychology.
6. The 24 Thomistic theses as the regulative canon of Neo-Scholasticism. Natural Theology.
7. Neo-Scholastic hermeneutics on the Holy Trinity I.
8. Neo-Scholastic hermeneutics on the Holy Trinity II.
9. Neo-Scholastic hermeneutics on the Holy Trinity III.
10. The western theological critique on Augustinian and Scholastic Trinitarianism.
11. The relation of immanent and economic Trinity in western systematic theology according to the paradigm of relational ontology.
