Learning Outcomes
Training of students in advanced topics of Molecular Biology. Methods for the study of molecular mechanisms. Transcription mechanisms. Operons and regulatory circuits in Procaryotes. Functional elements of gene control in eukaryotes. RNA processing and catalytic RNA. Oncogenes and their role in carcinogenesis. Familiarization with specific molecular techniques. Understanding the mechanisms of gene trascription and control in procaryotes and eucaryotes, RNA processing and the role of oncogenes in carcinogenesis

Transcription mechanisms. Control of the operon. Procaryotic regualtory circuits. Phage strategies. Promoters and enhancers. Splicing and RNA processing. Catalytic RNA. Oncogenes and cancer.
