Learning Outcomes
The course has an introductory character and aims to acquaint students with the emergence, formation and evolution of the art of stage-directing and its artistic currents from the beginning of the 19th century to the First World War.

Course Content (Syllabus)
This is the first part of the course entitled DIRECTING TRENDS IN EUROPE which is offerd in two semesters. The PART I, first of all offers the student the opportunity to acquire a concise diagram of the emergence and formation of the art of the director on the European and modern Greek stage, from its origins to the interwar period. And, secondly, it aims to familiarize the student with the most important artistic trends in the field of directing and with the work of the leading directors of the above period.
