Learning Outcomes
In the course, we study the most important Ibsen plays, of the realistic period (1864-1899), from the point of view of dramaturgy. On the side, we will discuss contemporary stagings of his plays on the Greek stage. We study the plays in a chronological order and the bibliography used comprises mainly of books and articles published in Greek and in English.

Description
PRESENTATIONS: Students (individually or as a group) can do a presentation of the plays studied in the course or proposals for adaptation of the plays or commentating specific stagings of the plays in Greece and worldwide. WRITTEN EXAMINATION: The students will be asked to respond to three categories of questions: 1. Various questions demanding brief answers (40%). 2. Questions demanding more analytic answers (30%). 3. Commentary on a play of your choice (500 words). This is a take-home assignment and will be submitted on the day of the written examination (30%).
