Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course students will:
1. understand the notion of electronic publications available on the Internet
2. become familiar with the available content distribution channels,
3. learn how print is connected to digital content (augmented reality),
4. understand the structure, design and evaluation of a website,
5. become familiar with publishing and promoting online content,
6. practice on Content Management Systems and WordPress platform.
Course Content (Syllabus)
The course focuses on electronic publications available on the Internet. Initially, there is a theoretical introduction to electronic publishing and different content distribution channels, and then the existing methods of producing electronic/digital publications and e-books are presented. The next section of the course focuses on the design, creation, management and evaluation of websites for the distribution of digital content. Emphasis is given on sites that present news and informative content regarding their usability and the traceability of their content by search engines. Finally, the WordPress content management system is being presented in depth, as well as the tools that extend its capabilities in supporting e-publishing.
