Learning Outcomes
At the end of the semester the students will be able to: 1. understand the narrative techniques/choices a writer must follow in the process of the adaptation. 2. know and practice the techniques needed according to the initial text of adaptation: poem, lyrics, novel, theatrical play, history e.t.c 3. further comprehend the basic screenwriting elements.

Course Content (Syllabus)
Weeks 1-8: Introduction to the concept of adaptation, basic Theories / schools of adaptation (example, exersice), Transformational acts - the seven transformative acts (example, exersice), Building techniques (story I - the three operations, the catalyst, the scaling, the end of the work in progress and the script / story II - plot lines / intricacies / Characters - locating existing ones and creating / cutting / collapsing characters), Novel - Approach to the adaptation mechanisms of a novel / Theatrical work - Report on the adaptation mechanisms of a theatrical work. Biography / True Facts - Approaches to making a biography or true facts (example, exersice). Weeks 9-11: Presentations of papers. last weeks: Other issues/questions

The final evaluation is according το the below: 1. 20% as bonus for the presentation of the final project 2. final written assignment, 50% 3. written assignments during the lessons, 50%. The evaluation is the same for September, as well.
