Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to do the following: 1. Use of special software for geometric transformation applications. 2. Processing and utilization of raster images and input devices (scanner) and output (plotter) for automated map design. 3. Applications in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software environment.

Course Content (Syllabus)
The scope of Digital Cartography. Geometric transformations of digitized maps and accuracy control of the digitalization procedure. Vector and Raster maps. Raster Spatial Analysis. DBMS for Cartographic data. Cartographic data modelling. Cartographic interpolations, smoothing and generalization operations. Digital maps and GIS. Lab excericises.
