Course Content (Syllabus)
Legislation and environmental policy. Sustainability. Environmental Impact Assessment. Strategic Environmental Assessment. identification, prediction and evaluation of environmental impacts, mitigation measures, environmental monitoring. Socioeconomic impacts. project description and alternative solutions. Environmental baseline conditions. Environmental permits. The process of environmental assessment, as described in legislation and scientific literature. Examples of environmental impacts of several projects. Strategic Environmental Assessment of plans and programs: requirements, methodology, public participation and decision making.
