Learning Outcomes
By the end Of the module students are expected to know and be able to do:
- the main psychopathological entities, along with the applications of neuropsychology in the clinical context of psychiatry-crucial features of differential diagnosis between cognitive, behavioral an demotional disorders-issues of comorbid conditions of psychiatric disorders including disorders of neurodevelopment, cognitive and neurobehavioral function- the neuroevolutionary approch of Paul McLean as to the pathogenesis of psychiatric disorders-cognitive neuropsychological theories of schizophrenia and delusional misidentification disorders-patterns of neuropsychological impairment in various patients populations (e.g., eating disorders, obsessive-compusive disorder, pharmacological addictions, mood disorders, psychotic disorders)

Course Content (Syllabus)
Reviewing the main psychopathological disorders and their neuropsychological correlates, pathophysiological aspects, cognitive neuropsychology of schizophrenia and delusional misidentification syndrome. Brief mention to the phylogenetic develpment of the central nevous system up to the corticalization process (The triune brain model of Paul McLean), limbic system and its role to emotional processing, neuropsychological aspects of psychiatric ilnesses,brief mention to A.R. Luria tree functiobal units theory of brain organization and neuropsychological syndrome analysis
