Learning Outcomes
They will have developed their knowledge of the field and the discipline of the Ethnomusicology and will have become familiar with different case studies.
They will have become aquainted with different methodological tools performed in different case studies thus having the potential to make their own choices during their own fieldwork.
They will have become familiar with the relevant bibliography by means of critical approach.
They will have performed an important totally theirs/personal fieldwork
Course Content (Syllabus)
This course aims at a presentation of different ways of research in order to explore local Oral musical cultures while in this way it widdens the knowledge of those who participate, as regards the many ways to approach the field. The final purpose is to come to a result of a "flexible" methodology which would comprehend the needs of the field and be applied in the proper way that would unfold those multiple "truths" of the field that are not apparent from the beggining to the researcher. The basic idea of the course is that methodology comes from the field and is performed in ways that take into consideration the needs of the different case studies.
