Learning Outcomes
They can: -describe a narural geologigal section or a drilling and to divide it in units according to the lithology -date the beds with the included fossils and divide them in biozones -correlate the various sections of a small or wider area -give the synoptic stratigraphic column of the area -conclude the geological history and evolution of the area -know the evolution of the earth from its birth till now -know the palaeogeographic evolution of the earth -know the organisms lived in each geological period -know the various geological events of each geological period -know the climatic conditions of the verious periods

Course Content (Syllabus)
Introduction. Stratification. Unconformities. Lithostratigraphy. Biostratigraphy. Chronostratigraphy. Geochronology. Stratigraphic Correlation. Phases. Study of all geological periods. (palaeogeography, palaeontology, palaeobiogeography, tectonic events, palaeoclimatology).
