Learning Outcomes
The student to recognize and evaluate the subjective status and various systems for delimiting the marine and terrestrial stages of Europe, to combine the tectonic regime with the development of Greek Neogene-Quaternary basins, to plan, organize and perform a basic project of stratigraphic study and biochronology of Neogene-Quaternary sequencies.

Course Content (Syllabus)
Boundaries and zones of European Neogene-Quaternary. Marine and continental stages of European Neogene-Quaternary. The MN-MNQ zones and local biochronology. The Neogene-Quaternary of Greece:geotectonic frame, basic stratigraphic sequences, problems in study and correlation. The Greek Neogene fossil record. Case studies of Greek Neogene-Quaternary basins.
