Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, students will: • Recognize of the geometric characteristics of the monument and the topographical organization of the approximation of the points required for drawing up of plans (electronic files), elevations, views and sections (horizontal and vertical). • Familiarize with horizontal and altimetric determination of points in the same reference system and with uniform precision. The use of surveying instruments and measuring methods. Calculations. • Familiarize with compilation of basic plans of the monument in digital format. • Identify topographic reference points and information condensation. • To implement 3D renderings • Familiarize with digital printing techniques. • To fiamiliarize themselves with the specifications for surveying architectural monuments and archeological sites.

Course Content (Syllabus)
Topographic Survey of Architectural Monuments Course objectives: • Recognition of the geometric characteristics of the monument and the topographical organization of the approximation of the points required for drawing up of plans (electronic files), elevations, views and sections (horizontal and vertical). • Horizontal and altimetric determination of points in the same reference system and with uniform precision. The use of surveying instruments and measuring methods. Calculations. • Compilation of basic plans of the monument in digital format. • Topographic reference points and information condensation. • 3D renderings and application examples. • Digital printing techniques. • Specifications for surveying monuments. The following subjects will be presented in the courses: Field of application of topographical surveys of architectural monuments and archaeological sites. Methods of determining points. Accuracy. Control networks for surveying. Drawing and recording of horizontal and vertical sections of a monument.
