Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

Course Content (Syllabus)
This course attempts to approach legal issues arising from the modern data economy, with an interdisciplinary approach covering aspects of commercial law, civil law, personal data protection issues, etc. In particular, it presents the Digital Single Market and the new Data Economy, the new technologies in the service of the data economy, such as the Internet of Things, big data, cloud computing, blockchain, artificial intelligence. It then analyzes the data that are produced by machines and the legal regulations for digital platforms, covering issues of freedom of expression,the Digital Services Regulation, the Digital Markets Act, the European Data Governance Regulation, the Data Regulation, and then the legal issues from Artificial Intelligence and finally, virtual currencies and smart contracts.
