Learning Outcomes
At the end of the course the students are expected to: Know the qualitative characteristics of learning in the museum and in cultural spaces as non-formal learning environments for arts and culture. Know methods based on arts –visual and perfoming- for the experiential learning and understanding of museum contents and cultural goods in museum and other cultural spaces. Recognize the multiple learning benefits of arts in museum activities and other cultural activities for all children’s holistic development, the cultivation of 21st century skills and their educational, social and cultural inclusion. Know and apply the principles of Universal Design for Learning with regards to arts in order to provide multiple ways of access, participation, action and expression in the museum, other cultural spaces as well in cultural activities in school. Be able to design activities and material with regards to arts and their interconnection for the creative appoach of museum contents, creative expression and equal participation of all children in cultural spaces and in cultural activities in school. Be able to use resources and educational material –including digital ones- with regards to arts in museums, cultural spaces and cultural activities in school. Define teachers’ role for the use of arts in activities related to museum contents in cultural spaces and in school. Regognise the importance of collaboration and promote collaborative and participatory practices for the design of programmes and cultural activities with arts in the museum, cultural spaces and in school.

Course Content (Syllabus)
he aim of the course is the study of the museum and cultural spaces as non-formal or/and informal learning environments as well as the methods used in the frame of the expanded concept of museum learning and for the achievement of various learning outcomes. Emphasis is placed on the role of the visual and performing arts. Through research and practical approaches, issues of utilization of various arts and the interconnection between them are explored in the museum space, in relevant educational material and in cultural activities complementary to formal education (inside and outside of the school) as well as in connection with the community and throughout lifetime. Arts are explored in light of cultural diversity and human expression, their educational use for experiential approach, understanding and interpretation of cultural goods, personal and creative expression and the development of 21st century skills. Differentiated, inclusive, participatory and collaborative practices are examined in relation to arts and various aspects of cultural participation within museums and cultural spaces (access, education, understanding, engagement, contribution) for all children regardless their differences (mixed ability classes, children with or without disabilities and/or special educational needs, children with migrant biography, etc.).

Student Assessment
Description
The students will be informed in advance about the instructions, progress and final exams as well as the evaluation criteria through the e-learning platform. Throughout the semester students participate in creative activities in the classroom and in museums, attend museum visits, study current research papers and relevant literature, participate in quizzes and they also make presentations in plenary.
