Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, students will:
1. broaden their knowledge regarding the principles of psychoanalytic psychodynam theory and therapy
2. be able to do a case formulation and deign apropriate and individualized interventions informed by theoretical orientation
3. be familiar with principles of psychoanalytic and psychodynamic practive
4. develop clinical reasoning through critical discussion of clinical presentations
5. be able to integrate theory and practive and will deepen their understanding of psychodynamic practice and apply it to real clinical situations
6. cultivate reflective clinical practice by examining personal responses, countertransference and therapeutic process.
7. develop professional collaboration skills by participating in peer discussion with colleagues in supervisory similar context
8. learn to monitor and evaluate their own therapeutic progress
9. be exposed to a variety of therapeutic styles by following cases of their colleagues and develop their communication skills
Course Content (Syllabus)
A seminar-based course in which postgraduate students present the clinical history of individuals under their psychotherapeutic treatment. The presentations are followed by discussions focusing on case formulation, therapeutic planning, and other issues pertaining to clinical practice in relation to the specific cases. The clinical material is contextualized through the study and discussion of relevant scholarly literature. The course aims to foster the exchange of perspectives, enhance the understanding of psychological problems through diverse theoretical frameworks, support the periodic evaluation of therapeutic progress, deepen knowledge of various therapeutic models and their clinical application, and promote reflective clinical practice."
