Learning Outcomes
Students will familiarize themselves with the types of skin infections (erysipelas, cellulitis, pyomyositis, gas gangrene, necrotizing soft tissue infection, animal and human bite infections), epidemiological data and predisposing factors will be studied. Pathogenic microorganisms and the importance of resistant strains will be analyzed. Students will be able to recognize the clinical picture and make the diagnosis. They will be able to apply the correct treatment, familiarize themselves with the correct use of antibiotics, study post-traumatic tetanus immunization and the management of a bite from an animal with possible exposure to the rabies virus. Finally, they will be able to manage the diabetic foot.
