Learning Outcomes
The importance of preventing surgical infections will be discussed. The students will familiarize themselves with the methods of prevention (based on the guidelines of the World Health Organization), the correct preparation and the correct behavior of the surgical team. They will learn the principles of environmental cleaning and the importance of infection prevention in splenectomy patients. They will also become familiar with infection prevention in healthcare professionals, post-exposure prophylaxis and prevention of the spread of infections in healthcare settings.

Course Content (Syllabus)
Importance of surgical infection prevention – methods of prevention (based on WHO guidelines), preparation and appropriate behavior of the surgical team, principles of environmental cleaning, infection prevention in splenectomy patients, infection prevention in healthcare professionals, post-exposure prophylaxis, prevention of dissemination infections in healthcare settings
