Learning Outcomes
The aim of the course is to provide additional knowledge to the students who follow the sub-specialty of Geophysics regarding the knowledge of mathematics which are necessary in order to solve applied geophysical problems. It includes basic knowledge of differential and integral Vector Calculus, as well as an introduction to Linear Algebra and Fourier Analysis. The course includes both theory and solving exercises/applications in a conventional way (analytical solutions), as well as by using MATLAB.

Course Content (Syllabus)
The individual subjects that are provided are: A) Differential Vector Calculus and basic principles of Analytic Geometry B) Introduction to Integral Vector Calculus C) Fourier analysis D) Using MATLAB to solve Vector Calculus problems

Description
Submission of exercises and MATLAB code during the semester, as well as a triple final exam on applied problems (performed on different days) in the subjects of Vector Calculus, Fourier analysis and computer problem solving using MATLAB.
