Course Content (Syllabus)
The course aims into providing in-depth knowledge of the electromagnetic geophysical methods in terms of their theoretical aspects but mostly in terms of their application routine. Emphasis is given into data collection methodology via parallel fieldwork demonstrations as well as into teaching geophysical interpretation techniques by means of specialized software. The subjects that are being taught are as follows: 1. Electrical Resistivity 2. Basic principles of geoelectrical methods and typical measuring modes. 3. Vertical Electrical Soundings, data collection and 1D inversion 4. Electrical Resistivity Tomography, 2D and3D inversion 5. Self-Potential method 6. Basic principles of electromagnetic geophysical methods 7. The VLF method 8. The TDEM technique 9. The magnetotelluric method 10. Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR).
