Learning Outcomes
The course aims to provide students with additional knowledge regarding selected basic methods of Geostatistics, as well as examples of their application and utilization. In particular, emphasis is placed on the combination of the use of mathematical statistical methods and computers for the indicative solution of simple Geological problems.
Course Content (Syllabus)
Collection and types of geological data
Single variable statistics: graphical and numerical description using the SPSS statistical package.3) Frequency curves-Normal distribution
Factor analysis of data
Analysis of data in groups
Time series
Analysis of two (2) variables using least squares methods (linear correlation coefficient, error analysis, etc.)
Analysis of stability of results using resampling techniques (bootstrap, jackknife, etc.)
Introduction to the MATLAB programming language
Solving selected geological problems of analysis of two (2) variables using MATLAB codes.
