Learning Outcomes
At the end of the course students will have to:
1. to recognize and distinguish essay texts within the totality of works of Italian literature
2. understand Italian academic discourse in both oral and written form
3. be able to interpret critically texts, essays and articles related to the field of Italian literature
4. to write / produce corresponding texts with logical structure, with ease and synthetic ability, using the most appropriate and effective style.
Course Content (Syllabus)
The subject of the course is the study of the academic Italian discourse that touches the field of Italian literature.
Through the study of selected texts of Italian literature, the literary researches that took place from time to time are recorded and highlighted, and the extraction of synthetic and simplified information regarding the methods and techniques of the various critical publications is sought.
The concept of literature as a critique of the text and as an interpretation of literary works is highlighted. In this way its scientificity is defined and the basic guidelines are provided to those who wish to deal with the subject.
Through study and analysis (articles, essays and treatises) the familiarity with the meaning and form of scientific texts as well as with prominent forms of Italian essayists (Umberto Eco, Pier Paolo Pasolini...) takes place.
