Learning Outcomes
Students are expected, upon successful completion of the course, to: • Analyze the main objectives, principles, and key tools of the European Union's Common Agricultural Policy (CAP). • Explain the historical development and reforms of the CAP from its inception to the present day. • Evaluate the impact of the CAP on the agricultural sector, the environment, and rural development in the member states. • Apply critical thinking in analyzing policy measures and interventions related to the CAP. • Synthesize policy proposals in response to contemporary challenges such as climate change, sustainable development, and innovation in the agricultural sector.

Course Content (Syllabus)
The course offers an in-depth examination of the objectives, principles, and key instruments of the European Union's Common Agricultural Policy (CAP). Through a combination of theoretical approaches and analytical-critical descriptions, students analyze the historical development, reforms, and contemporary challenges associated with the Common Agricultural Policy, as well as its effects on the agricultural sector, the environment, and rural development. Special emphasis is placed on the challenges and developments in Greek agriculture in light of the Common Agricultural Policy.
