Learning Outcomes
Through the course the student discovers the applied field of school Physical Education (P.E.) and in addition is given the opportunity to develop and apply a wide range of motor activities. This field includes Primary and Secondary education, and aims to enable the student to write programs for the course of physical education in the two basic stages of education. After the completion of the class students will be able to: • To design and adapt a daily program of P.E., which on the one hand will correspond to the curriculum of P.E. for both levels of education and on the other hand it will contain original elements of exercise, which will correspond to the characteristics of the students in each grade. • To apply and execute all practical instructions in an applied field. • To be able to recognize, distinguish and relate the thematic objects of the course of P.E. (according to the respective curricula) in the two (basic) levels of education • To be able to meet the requirements of teaching in the FA. • To be able to present in a written and practical way the elements of teaching in the two levels of education

Course Content (Syllabus)
Course Purpose and Description The purpose of the course is to provide students with the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills in order to be able to design comprehensive physical education programs for both primary and secondary education levels. The course combines theoretical approaches with practical applications, emphasizing the acquisition of competencies related to understanding the educational framework and the ability to create physical education lesson plans in both educational levels, taking into account the individual and special abilities of students. Course Objectives The course aims to: Present recent theoretical developments in school physical education. Understand the role of the Physical Education Teacher in both educational levels. Analyze the process of designing a lesson plan. Understand the operational framework of schools. WEEK Content Learning Outcomes Week 1 Introduction to the field of school physical education. Presentation of the thematic areas of a Physical Education class. Introduction to key concepts. Purpose and objectives of Physical Education in school. Understanding of thematic areas (Knowledge) Week 2 Introduction to and development of basic locomotor (walking, running, hopping, skipping, galloping, sliding), manipulative (throwing, catching, striking, kicking, stopping), and stability (landing, stopping, changing direction, balancing) motor skills. Design and implementation of exercise components (Knowledge–Skill) Week 3 Activity ideas for exploring fundamental and sport-specific motor skills through the concepts of effort (force, time, flow), space (level, direction, range), and relationships (with partners, with objects, combined). Development of perceptual abilities (kinaesthetic, visual, auditory perception, coordination). Design and implementation of exercise components (Knowledge–Skill) Week 4 Introduction to and development of practice methods for fundamental and sport-specific motor skills (part-whole method, massed-distributed method, blocked-random method, variable-fixed method). Design of original exercise components, adaptation to new situations, decision-making (Knowledge–Competence) Week 5 Development of physical abilities (strength, endurance, speed, flexibility) freely or through circuit training. Adaptation to new situations, decision-making (Competence) Week 6 Introduction to and use of the spectrum of teaching styles in Physical Education – Design of cards using the Practice Style. Implementation of instructions in an applied field (Skill) Week 7 Introduction to and use of the spectrum of teaching styles in Physical Education – Design of cards using the Reciprocal Style. Implementation of instructions in an applied field (Skill) Week 8 Introduction to and use of the spectrum of teaching styles in Physical Education – Self-Check Style, Inclusion Style – Design of cards. Implementation of instructions in an applied field, respect for diversity (Skill–Knowledge–Competence) Week 9 Games, types of games and their use in Physical Education – Low-level games – Cooperative games. Design of original exercise components (Knowledge) Week 10 Games, types of games and their use in Physical Education – Preparatory games. Design of original exercise components (Knowledge) Week 11 Routines and Protocols in Physical Education classes – Classroom management, behavior, and discipline. Adaptation to new situations, decision-making (Competence) Week 12 Evaluation in school. Introduction to and use of the Euro Fit and EY ZHN tests. Implementation of instructions in an applied field (Skill) Week 13 Structure of a daily Physical Education lesson in Primary and Secondary Education. Design and implementation of a lesson plan.

Description
Assessment based on regular and active participation in the course (10%). Written assignments (40%) Written final exam (50%), (or through the e-learning platform, which includes multiple choice questions) The criteria are mentioned in the Department's Study Guide and are communicated to the students in the first lesson.
