Upon successful completion of the course, students will have acquired:
Knowledge
• they will have acquired knowledge in general about dance and in particular about what dance is, the source and root of dance, the parts of dance, the forms of dance, the goals of dance.
• they will have acquired knowledge about Greek Traditional Dance.
• they will have learned basic dance patterns observed in Greek Traditional Dances.
• they will have learned representative Greek Traditional Dances from various regions of Greece, specifically the following: Sirtos, Sirtos in three, Tsamikos, Zagorisios, Pogonisios, Zonaradikos, Podaraki, Chromatista tsourapia, Trechatos, Tik, Karagouna.
•will have deepened the basic principles of teaching for teaching Greek Traditional dances.

•will have acquired the skills to perform basic dance patterns observed in Greek Traditional Dances.

Analytical Course Content
• Introduction to Greek Traditional Dance-Presentation: what is Greek Traditional Dance.
• Presentation of basic dance patterns observed in Greek Traditional Dances. Participation in the execution of the basic dance patterns in practice.
• Presentation of the basic principles of teaching for teaching Greek Traditional dances.
• Presentation-teaching of the Greek Traditional Dance: Sirtos. Participation in the performance of the dance: Sirtos in practice.
• Presentation-teaching and participation in the performance of the Greek Traditional Dances: Sirtos in three and Tsamikos in practice.
• Presentation of “Dance”. Analysis: what is dance, the source and root of dance, the parts of dance, the forms of dance, the goals of dance.
• Presentation-teaching and participation in the performance of Greek Traditional Dances: Zagorisios and Pogonisios in practice.
• Presentation-teaching and participation in the performance of Greek Traditional Dances: Zonaradikos and Podaraki in practice.

Student Assessment
Description
The assessment is based on students' regular and active participation in the course (10%), midterm exams (9th week) concerning: Simulation of teaching Greek Traditional Dances, from those taught (20%) and oral, written and practical exams at the end of the semester (70%).
