Course Content (Syllabus)
This module presents the moving image media – film, television, video and their role in the children's and school culture. It follows that children have a basic right to learn about these media in school.Future teachers find that it makes better sense to acknowledge and build on what children already know and can do with the moving image media. Building upon sound academic research, which makes the case for building moving image education into the learning experiences of all primary school children, we focus upon the the necessity for active learning; the power of linking home and school; deepening understanding of texts;creativity and the moving image and understanding of culture and society (BFI).
