Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the courses/seminars, postgraduate students will be expected to: • Establish clear connections between theories of second/foreign language acquisition and contemporary pedagogical approaches. • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of theories and practices related to the integration of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in foreign language education. • Effectively apply ICT tools in the design and implementation of foreign language teaching. • Develop and/or adapt appropriate and pedagogically sound digital learning materials, taking into account learners’ age, language proficiency level, and targeted skills. • Critically evaluate digital resources and tools available online for their pedagogical suitability and effectiveness.

Thematic Areas The thematic areas to be covered during the courses/seminars include: • Cognitive, pedagogical, and linguistic theories of second/foreign language acquisition • Linking language acquisition theories with teaching practice • Learning terminology related to language teaching through the use of ICT • Locating and adapting appropriate digital materials for language instruction • Using interactive digital tools to develop relevant skills (listening comprehension, reading comprehension, speaking, and writing) • Useful sources for locating educational materials • Digital tools for providing feedback in foreign language teaching • Communities of Practice and Learning Communities • Useful web 2.0 support tools The course is structured into 13 units: 1.
