Upon successful completion of the course, the student will have
• obtained knowledge on classic theatre
• been familiar with the basic terminology of the classic theatre
• gained the capacity to distinguish different stylistic characteristics of the classic theatre
• reinforced the research critical and analytical capacity of the Contemporary Theatre

Course Content (Syllabus)
The course will focus on classic theater and will be based on three axes: It will present the historical context of its emergence and evolution as well as its key features from Garnier to Voltaire. It will study the theatrical theory that emerges from classic drama and will focus on the study of classical thought, through the study of representative theatrical texts of that time.
