- Introductory nuclear and particle physics - Special Relativity - Matrix algebra - Quantum Mechanics
Learning Outcomes
- understand the basic concepts that govern the fundamental interactions and the structure of the Standard Model of particle physics - calculate basic quantities (scattering amplitudes) for electromagnetic interactions using Feynman diagrams - search for information in the bibliography and on preprint archives (arXiv) - become familiar with the open questions in particle physics, how they affect our daily lives and how they connect with other fields
General Competences
  • Apply knowledge in practice
  • Retrieve, analyse and synthesise data and information, with the use of necessary technologies
  • Work autonomously
  • Work in teams
  • Be critical and self-critical
  • Advance free, creative and causative thinking
