Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of the classes, the students will know the basic principles for usuing protecting groups, the terminology and general methods of asymmetric synthesis, the use of radical reactions, Diels-Alder and 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reactions in the synthesis, the basic principles of asymmetric synthesis in carbonylic systems, aldol reactions, formation of alkenes, pericyclic and radical reactions etc. Protection Groups. Terminology amd General Asymmetric Synthetic Methods. Analytic methods of asymmetric synthesis. Baldwin cyclization rules. Radical reactions. Diels-Alder reactions, 1,3-Dipolar cycloaddition reactions. Asymmetric Carbonyl addition, aldol reactions, formation of double bonds, addition to conjugated cabonylic compounds
