Course Content (Syllabus)
The course presents and discusses perspectives on curriculum design. The term curriculum design refers to positions regarding the process, namely the sequence of phases of design and the subjects that define it, as well as the goals and content. The term curriculum design perspective means a specific way in which we see the curriculum, a specific way of theoretical approach and practical treatment of the issue of curriculum design. It has an ethical and not descriptive nature, since it refers to positions on how a curriculum should be designed. More specifically, we discuss positions regarding the goals, content and roles played by teachers and students in the construction and implementation of the curriculum in the following perspectives: a) traditional, b) student-centered, c) social effectiveness, d) social reconstruction, e) emphasis on the structure of sciences and g) critical reconstruction.
