On completion of this course, the attending postgraduate students will be able to:
-describe the composition, structure and function of endodontic biofilm and the main obstacles concerning its removal
-analyze the core properties, the advantages and limitations of biomaterials used in Endodontics.
Course Content (Syllabus)
Advanced clinical training in Endodontics requires a background in basic science. In this course postgraduate students are taught the fundamental principles of endodontic microbiology, with emphasis on the composition, structure and function of endodontic biofilm and the main obstacles concerning its removal, and they are also acquainted with the main techniques for studying the endodontic microflora. In addition, the core properties, the advantages and limitations of biomaterials used in Endodontics are analyzed. The attending students are given articles to read and prepare in advance and these are subsequently discussed and analyzed during seminars.
