Learning Outcomes
The aim of this course is to provide knowledge and awareness regarding the concept and goals of medical education. Specifically, upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to: • Understand how to conduct a needs analysis in the context of medical education. • Recognize the importance of research in medical education. • Design new research within the framework of medical education. • Evaluate new research in medical education using statistical analysis methods. • Write a scientific publication. • Design presentations using modern tools. • Understand the significance of clinical skills laboratories. • Be familiar with the concept of differentiated instruction and varied learning profiles. • Understand the notion of co-creation and living labs. • Become familiar with new educational technologies, such as virtual patients, virtual environment-assisted learning, and serious games. • Design educational materials based on scenario- and problem-based learning. • Understand the concept and dimensions of digital skills. • Comprehend the digital transformation of healthcare. • Recognize the role of escape rooms as an educational tool. • Design educational tools such as Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs). • Design and develop new content for medical encyclopedias, such as Wikipedia. • Understand the significance of specific research topics, such as medical professionalism. • Comprehend the concept and importance of ECTS credits in medicine and lifelong learning. • Be aware of various medical education opportunities (e.g., exchange programs, observerships, etc.) and personal development pathways. • Recognize the importance of acquiring effective communication skills. • Understand the concept of empathy. • Become familiar with delivering bad news using the SPIKES protocol.
