Course Content (Syllabus)
1st week : Introduction to Science and Research. Research design of approach(es) and methods they intend using to proposed research in Master's thesis. The purpose of this section is to develop a problem statement that will serve as the foundation for the study and that will clearly explain the key elements of the proposed study. The concept of research originality.
2nd - 4th week: The Library Training service of AUTH: Library electronic sources and services. Creation of a personal electronic bibliography. Plagiarism and other intellectual property issues. The bibliography using the Mendeley system in (e.g. Harvard Citation Style, APA Citation Style, MLA Citation Style, etc.), Web of Science and Scopus in bibliography processing.
5th week: How to Write an Article Review: Tips and Examples. Guidelines of scientific journal can help you identify a research study and distinguish an article that presents the findings of a research study.
6th week: Presenting of scientific journal article/ guidelines (ppt).
7th week: Contents of a dissertation proposal. Writing and developing an implementation research proposal. Examples of experimental research design.
8th week: Oral presentation of literature review (by topic)
9th week: Masters research proposal guidelines. Goals, theoretical point of departure, research questions and/or hypothesis, research design and methods, problem statement and focus, outline of the study and bibliography
10th and 11th week: Data processing in research. The process of gathering and analyzing accurate data from various sources to find answers to research problems (examples from field experiments and molecular experiments).
12th week: Communication skills, in presenting the proposal and a summary of their findings in the form of an oral presentation (Work structure, size, presentation mode, Social media and tools / Platforms / Pictures).
13th week: Oral presentation of proposal with detailed plan to approach the research Timeline (ppt). Submission of the proposal (word).
