Learning Outcomes
The students will learn the anatomo-physiological structure of the peripheral and central auditory system and its role in sound and specifically speech perception.

Course Content (Syllabus)
The course will present the function of hearing through the physiological connections of both peripheral and central auditory pathways. Analysis of neural responses of the auditory nerve, perceptual sensation of intensity, temporal analysis and processing, frequency selection, perception of acoustic space, acoustic patterns, and perception of speech. Students who complete the course and pass the exams will be able to understand the importance of the anatomophysiological structures of the peripheral and central auditory systems in the perception of sounds, especially speech.
