Learning Outcomes
1) Understanding the importance of Automation according to KENAK legislation. Defining the contribution of technologies to energy savings and resilience of the energy systems in buildings. 2) Study of Building Management Systems (BMS): Definitions, components, and general architecture. 3) Study of Building Automation Systems (BMS): Definitions, components, and general architecture. Understanding of operation and differences from BMS. 4) Use of Sensors and other advanced control techniques (introduction to the concepts of neural networks with applications in buildings). 5) Use of tools and certifications for smart readiness and carbon neutrality of buildings. 6) Study of the necessary changes to transform conventional distribution networks to smart grids (Smart Grids). 7) Calculation of energy, environmental, and economic benefits in real-scale applications
