Learning Outcomes
The Postgraduate Thesis constitutes an independent scientific and systematic approach to the analysis of a topic and the synthesis of a solution based on current bibliography and research. The Postgraduate Thesis has a research, study, development or applied research character and is prepared by each student individually. The thesis provides the student with the opportunity to expand in depth an interdisciplinary topic of specialization and to develop critical and combinatorial thinking, organization and analysis skills, applying a rigorous, systematic and scientific approach. The Postgraduate Thesis must include a set of activities that extend to all phases of the preparation and that can guarantee a successful outcome in every respect. The results of these activities are summarized in the text of the thesis, which may include: 1. Description and analysis of the topic of the thesis, in a way that the reader can understand the subject of the thesis, the working assumptions and the dimensions of the solution space. 2. Analysis of the current situation in the related scientific subjects, presenting the basic concepts and requirements of the problem, the research or other results on which the thesis is based, and the objectives of the thesis in relation to international best practice (state-of-the-art). 3. Description of the assumptions and methodology for implementing the thesis. 4. Description of the solution. This description may include a theoretical solution (theorems, analysis models, algorithms, etc.) and/or implementation of a system in relation to the use cases recorded during the analysis. 5. Final conclusions of the thesis that will include data for the control and evaluation of the solution of the problem (theoretical evaluation, presentation of measurements or evaluations). 6. Analysis of the bibliography where all books or articles used in the text or in the footnotes or other supplementary bibliography, sources, etc. will be recorded. 7. Appendices containing all the tools used, along with instructions for use and management of the software/hardware, and the possible future expansion of the solutions (e.g. description of the environment). Skills: • To use the available bibliography for a specific but multidimensional and interdisciplinary thematic area with a critical and synthetic spirit. • To design a research plan and develop an appropriate methodology for approaching and investigating a topic under study and to organize an implementation plan • To design, simulate and/or build prototype hardware/software for the selected solution • To write a complete scientific/technical essay To communicate clearly and effectively his/her conclusions, as well as the knowledge and reasoning on which they are based, by successfully making a comprehensive presentation via ICT before the three-member examination committee

This description may include a theoretical solution (theorems, analysis models, algorithms, etc.) and/or implementation of a system in relation to the use cases recorded during the analysis. 5. Final conclusions of the thesis that will include elements for the control and evaluation of the solution to the problem (theoretical evaluation, presentation of measurements or evaluations). 6. Analysis of the bibliography where all books or articles used in the text or in the footnotes or other supplementary bibliography, sources, etc. will be recorded. 7. Appendices containing all the tools used, along with instructions for use and management of the software/hardware, and the possible future expansion of the solutions (e.g. environment description).
