General Prerequisites
The aim of the course is for students to understand the strong presence of dance and its evolution into a high cultural form. Specifically, it analyses the object of dance and its evolution from primitive civilisations to modern times, with references to all forms of dance and their role in society.
Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, the student will be able to: • know the general elements of dance • get to know the elements of dance from primitive cultures to the modern world • identifies the research and study of dance and Greek dance so far • categorizes the research and study of dance and Greek dance so far • appreciates the research and study of dance so far • describes the qualitative study and research of dance with emphasis on the history of dance • identifies research into dance history • evaluates electronic and non-electronic sources of dance • collaborates with his/her fellow students • adopts and applies academic writing
