Course Content (Syllabus)
In the context of this course, the following topics are studied: Introduction to Telecommunications: From Fryctory to 5G and 6G, Networks. Introduction to Military Communications. The use of New Technologies in Military Communications. New Technologies in Military Communications: Independent Authorities - Judicial Protection. Privacy of Communications - Massive Surveillance. Security of Telecommunications: The case of the new Telecommunications Security Act in the UK (Telecommunications Security Act 2021). Mass Media and Crisis Management. Telecommunications, Armed Conflict and Investment Protection: the case of Yemen. Electronic Communications and National Security (e-Privacy). European Data Protection Law (GDPR). Specific data protection issues: Cross-border transfers of large volumes of data (Big Data). ICT applications, e-Governance (e-Governance), Smart Cities, The Internet of Military Things. Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Military Applications: Legal and Ethical Dimension.

Description
- Integrated e-learning management system (elearning.auth) (LMS) which is implemented by the open source software Moodle and allows the creation and hosting of a virtual classroom. - Provide a friendly modern tele-education environment for real-time interaction of the participants that allows to conduct remote lectures for course needs using tools such as Zoom, MS Teams, Google Meet, BigBlueButton - Classrooms with appropriate audio-visual equipment to host a distance learning postgraduate programme. - Creation and hosting of the website of each MSc using the service https://websites.auth.gr/. - Technological support for the creation of multimedia material (podcasts - videocasts) synchronized with the presentation of a speaker in the offered courses through the production infrastructure of educational material of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (https://it.auth.gr/service/studio/) - Support for live and recorded streaming/recording of the courses.
