Course Content (Syllabus)
The course Strategic Management introduces students to the core concepts, principles, and processes of strategic decision-making, with a particular focus on the international business environment. The course aims to help students understand: • the foundations of strategic thinking, • strategic choices at the business and corporate levels, and • the formulation and implementation of strategies in an international context. Key topics include corporate governance, competitive advantage, vision, and mission, which shape how organizations design and execute strategies to create value and sustain competitiveness. Through case studies, interactive exercises, and real-world examples, students: 1. identify and analyze strategic issues faced by organizations, 2. evaluate alternative strategic options, and 3. assess the outcomes and challenges of implementing strategies in practice. The course encourages critical and analytical thinking, the ability to interpret complex business environments, and the development of strategic decision-making skills — essential qualities for future managers, consultants, and entrepreneurs operating in today’s dynamic and internationalised world.
