Upon successful completion of the course students should: 1. have acquired the skill to prepare teeth for metal-ceramic restorations, 2. have acquired the skill to fabricate a temporary crown on an anterior tooth, 3. have acquired the skill to fabricate a temporary crown on a posterior tooth, 4. have acquired the skill to fabricate a temporary bridge, 5. be able to teach undergraduate students the basic principles of tooth preparations andtemporary prosthesis fabrication

Course Content (Syllabus)
Students are trained in the laboratory in the preparation of teeth for metal-ceramic restorations in frasaco casts and fabrication of transitional restorations in order to gain teaching experience to teach undergraduate students.In particular, the course includes: 1. Preparation of tooth #35 for metal-ceramic crown, 2. Preparation of tooth #36 for full cast crown, 3. Preparation of tooth #11 for metal-ceramic crown, 4. Preparation of tooth #21 and #23 for metal-ceramic fixed partial denture 5. Construction of temporary crown on tooth #11, 6. Construction of temporary fixed partial denture 21-23

Criteria for tooth preparations: Depth of cut, Inducing tissue trauma, clear cervical finish line, Inclined axial walls, Rounded corners, Absence of undercuts, Smooth preparation surfaces, Anatomical preparation, etc. Criteria for temporary restorations: Absence of overconduring or underextensions, Smooth contours, Adequacy of interdental spaces, Form of connectors, etc
