Learning Outcomes
After successful completion of this module, students will be able to: • To understand issues of new technologies, the application of which can help older adults in their autonomy and provide them with daily support aimed at improving their quality of life and well-being. • Define the basic principles of scientific methodology and research in the field of Gero-technology through examples. • To describe a wide range of approaches in the field of biomedical technology and engineering as applied to the elderly. • To understand the design, use of statistical, quantitative, and qualitative methods, the control of medical devices and biomedical products, and the construction and conduct of pilot tests. • Collect and analyze data. • To practice the writing of scientific and technical reports. • To be trained in the organization of the course of technology from the laboratory to its application in the field of health. • Define key bioethical issues and topics. • Understand the concept of innovation and entrepreneurship, as well as the concept of regulatory mechanisms, standardization, and copyright and patenting.
