Learning Outcomes
After successfully completed the course, the student will be to: • Distinguish key concepts in ecosystem and landscape ecology and population dynamics. • Understand the role of plants in the environment and determine their connection to the main earth processes. • Describe the changes in the size and age of populations structure. • Explore the causes of population changes. • Determine the ecological phenomena that occur in a community over time at the level of elementary interactions: a) among the members constituting the population (intraspecific interactions) b) among different populations (interpersonal interactions) c) between populations and abiotic factors. They can produce populations models of general application. • Analyze and evaluate changes in the rangeland ecosystem and landscape.

Course Content (Syllabus)
Introduction to Population Biology, Population Interactions, Population Dynamics, Diversity and Inheritance, Population Ecology and Evolution, Seed Dynamics, Competition and Coexistence, Intra-Specific and inter specific relationships, Survival Curves, Carbon Dioxide Balance, Physiology and Population Dynamics , Function and evolution of rangeland landscape, Models of dynamic evolution of rangeland ecosystems, Methodology, structure, functions, changes, disturbances of rangeland landscape, landscape elements. Assessment of multifunctional function and services of rangeland ecosystem and landscape.

Description
The evaluation of the course is based on the written exam which takes place either at the end of the semester and midterm exams during the semester. The exams of the course include multiple choice questions and short / extended answer Students are required to submit an assignment for the successful completion of the course in a subject that will be assigned to them All three components are taken into account to ensure a promotional grade The final grade is as follows: Course examination 50% Grade of midterm exams (test) 25%
