The learning outcomes are that students will be able to understand and interpret modern problems in the interpretation of imaging data and to use modern analysis tools. They will also be able to carry out simple experiments.
General Competences
  • Apply knowledge in practice
  • Retrieve, analyse and synthesise data and information, with the use of necessary technologies
  • Work autonomously
  • Work in teams
  • Generate new research ideas
Course Content (Syllabus)
This course presents basic concepts of neuroimaging with a focus on brain function. Although all methods are covered, emphasis is placed on non-invasive, neurophysiological methods such as Electroencephalography and Magnetoencephalography. Elements of experimental design and techniques for data analysis and visualisation are also given and practical use is made of tools for their analysis and interpretation. In detail: Introduction to medical informatics, biomedical technology, health information systems - modern developments in digital health Principles of neuroimaging methods Physiological basis of non-invasive neurophysiological recordings Electroencephalography & Magnetoencephalography Preprocessing of neurophysiological recordings Brain mapping systems Analysis and visualisation of neurophysiological recordings Experimental recordings & practical training General discussion
