Learning Outcomes
After successful completion of this course students should be able to: - recognize the basic anatomic features of the heart and thorax - recognize the main anatomic features of the heart, the lungs and the mediastinum in anatomical specimens - liaise the anatomy of the heart and lungs with the cardiac diseases that require surgical management - connect the anatomic knowledge with the basic surgical techniques in cardiac and thoracic surgery.

Course Content (Syllabus)
The course syllabus is the following: - topographic and functional anatomy of the heart - topographic and functional anatomy of the lungs - topographic anatomy of the thorax and the mediastinum - anatomy of the central and peripheral nervous system - anatomic principles of the endocrine system - anatomy of the circulatory system (arteries, veins and lymph vessels).

Description
