Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, students are expected to familiarize with landscape graphics and the language of graphic communication and expression -simple, imaginative and intelligible- as a main tool for graphic landscape design and landscape architecture design.

Course Content (Syllabus)
This course (studio landscape design, landscape architectural rendering) teaches the language of design, expression in design, and the semiotics of graphics in landscape architecture. It combines postgraduate students’ practice with design creativity and research into notable examples and appropriate, intelligible material selected from works by well-known specialists in landscape architecture. In the forefront is the relationship between the phases of the landscape/open space design process and their respective graphics or graphic products, the plans for their rendering. The course aspires to cover an area ranging from the development and elaboration of the programme, the plotting and analysis of the landscape or the site, the idea behind the proposal and image of the space or the landscape conceptual design, to the plans for presentation and rendering, the implementation plans and the construction and landscape detailing. Diagrams and plans for the plotting, analysis and proposal for the composition, organization and construction of the space or landscape, as well as ground plans, elevations, façades, sketches, perspectives and scale models, are dealt with in relation to basic compositional issues in general, and also in relation to more specific issues in landscape design, such as, for example, scale, seasonality, variability, mobility, colour, orientation and lighting.
