General Prerequisites
Students should be to have basic knowledge of plant physiology. Use of computers to present a relevant topic.
Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of the course, students will be able to: 1. Understand the effects, at plant and crop level, of abiotic factors and how they affect crop yield and quality. 2. Distinguish and suggest ways to deal with problems that arise at the crop level. 3. Propose and utilize natural "tools" to deal with problems of cultivation in collaboration with other specialties.

Course Content (Syllabus)
Introduction – Challenges in vegetables crop. Cultivation systems in controlled conditions. Physiology, quality and requirements of new forms of vegetable products. Urban vegetable cultivation. Nutritional value of vegetables and cultivation techniques. Supplemental/artificial lighting. Propagation material - seedlings. Biostimulants. Renewable energy sources in greenhouse crops. Special topics of physiology and nutrition of vegetable crops and cultivation techniques.
