Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, students are expected to understand the usefulness of digital media in the study and interpretation of the material remains of the past, to become familiar with the possibilities and limitations of digital media, and to become familiar with the ways of disseminating the results of scientific research to the scientific community and the general public through the use of digital media.

Course Content (Syllabus)
The rapid progress of digital technologies in recent decades has provided Archaeology with a wealth of tools for field research, data recording, analysis and presentation. This course presents an overview of the variety of digital media used in archaeology, such as geographic information systems, databases, 3D representations, and ways in which archaeological information is disseminated to the scientific community and the public using modern technological methods. In particular, case studies using GIS and databases are examined to understand the use of these applications in archaeological fieldwork, data analysis and interpretation.
