General Prerequisites
This course aims to introduce students to the fundamental theoretical, conceptual, and practical approaches of didactics, with a specific focus on Physical Education. It explores the principles and key factors of effective and high-quality teaching, the formulation of general and specific learning objectives, and their relevance in primary and secondary education. Topics include teaching methods and styles in Physical Education, the integration of technology in teaching, inclusive practices for students with special educational needs, and the promotion of physical literacy. The course also addresses interdisciplinary and cross-curricular approaches, lesson planning and classroom management, and emphasizes the role of feedback and safety. Lastly, it highlights the essential characteristics of the modern Physical Education teacher and examines methods of assessment and grading in the subject.
Learning Outcomes
The aim of the course is to equip students with the knowledge and skills required to design and implement effective, inclusive, and pedagogically sound Physical Education lessons. It emphasizes the development of teaching competencies, the use of diverse instructional methods, and the ability to set clear learning objectives. The course also fosters critical understanding of assessment practices and the evolving role of the Physical Education teacher in modern educational contexts.
