Learning Outcomes
Students will be expected upon the successive completion of the course:
To know the basic technique of speed and obstacle routes, long and high jumps and ball and javelin throwing.
To acquire the basic techniques through experiential exercise with different exercises and methods suitable for children of developmental age.To be able to construct training programs for technical and physical abilities of children aged 12-16 years.To compose small-group programs such as "Kids Athletics" with combinations of 2 games and more sports. To plan and organize track and field games for children and adolescents
Course Content (Syllabus)
Week 1: Development and load shaping in childhood. Theory of development in childhood, limitations in training.
Week 2: Basic principles of training in childhood. Periodicity models in the age up to 14 years and differentiation of the model in the age under 16 years.
Week 3: Training of coordination skills, theory and methodology of development of the five coordination skills.
Week 4: Learning the technique of running events in athletics in childhood and adolescence
Week 5: Relay races, development of the baton transfer technique based on age.
Week 6: Learning the technique of horizontal jumps in athletics in childhood. Methodology and technical training in the long jump adapted to age.
Week 7. Learning the technique of vertical jumps in athletics in childhood. Methodology and technical training in high jump adapted to age and prioritized by degree of difficulty.
Week 8: Learning the technique of throwing events in athletics in childhood. Introduction to throwing ability. Basic development of the ball, Methodology and technical training in shot put adapted to age.
Week 9: Learning the technique of javelin throwing in childhood. Methodology and technical training in similar instruments, ball adapted to age and prioritized by degree of difficulty.
Week 10: Strength-speed-endurance training in classical sports in children. Specificities of loading, methods of developing physical abilities in childhood. Prioritization in the training of physical abilities.
Week 11: Design of training programs for children up to 12 years old and 13-15 years old. Design of training programs for mass sports
Week 12: New trends in getting to know Athletics, practicing new techniques "Kids Athletics", Joint creation of events for the development of group participation in classical sports
Week 13: Implementation of classical sports programs in school and sports club. Practical implementation of training in athletics clubs.
